The University of Alabama has the most SEC wins of all time, have the most players play in the MLB from the SEC, have made the College World Series 5 times but are still looking for their first title after finishing in 2nd in 1983 and 1997. 

Some of the games greats were born here like Hank Aaron, Bo Jackson, Willie Mays, Satchel Paige and Ozzie Smith. 

The current era is certainly well represented with guys like Gunnar Henderson, Craig Kimbrel and Casey Mize, 

USA Prime SE Scout, VBA Rawlings, AL Bandits and The Right Way are some of the top travel teams in Alabama. 

Carter Johnson(Marlins) Connor Gatwood(Angels) Maddux Bruns(Dodgers) Wade Shelley(Auburn) and Caleb Barnett(Alabama) are some of the top prospects over the past few years looking to make a splash!

Rickwood Field in Birmingham is the oldest existing professional baseball stadium. Buit for the Barons, the stadium in addition has hosted the Phillies and Pirates in Spring Training. Hosted a MLB game and has even been featured in multiple films.

On June 18, 2024 the Montgomery Biscuits and Birhmingham Barons of Double A were playing while during the game, the public address announcer notified the crowd of the passing of Willie Mays. Mays grew up near Rickwood Field and started his pro career with the Barons in 1948.

Alabama is home to three minor league teams

Birmingham Barons - Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The Barons have seen great players and coaches such as Tim Anderson, Mark Buehrle, Rollie Fingers, Terry Francona, Bo Jackson, Reggie Jackson, Paul Konerko, Tony LaRussa, Luis Robert, Marcus Semien, Frank Thomas, Omar Vizquel and even NBA Great, Michael Jordan. 

Montgomery Biscuits - Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. The Biscuits have watched great players such as Carl Crawford, Evan Longoria, David Price and Blake Snell. 

Rocket City Trash Pandas - The newcomer since 2020 is a Double-A affiliate of the L.A. Angels. The Pandas have hosted talent such as Zach Neto, Logan O'Hoppe and Kyren Paris
